It seemed like a victory, of sorts. Last week the Senate approved a bill to
radically expand the AmeriCorps program. The bill initially contained language
that proposed a study for mandatory service for all young people in the United
States, but this language was removed as the bill moved through the Senate and
did not appear in the final version.
Democrat Jim McDermott has sponsored the new
mandatory service bill.
Well, it’s baaaaaaack. The language was stripped from one bill, but it
suddenly appeared in another. It is now contained in HR 1444, due to crawl
across the House floor this week. HR 1444 is sponsored by Rep. Jim McDermott, a
Washington state Democrat, and is assigned to the House Committee on Labor and
Education.
The bill, under Section 4 (b)6, states:
Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for
all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be
implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation
and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse
economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.
How “mandatory service,” i.e. servitude, strengthens the “social fabric
of the Nation” is not explained.
HR 1444, like its earlier parent 1388, includes the prospect of a “public
service academy, a four-year institution that offers a federally funded
undergraduate education with a focus on training future public sector leaders”
and reaches all the way down to primary school, requiring a review of “the
means to develop awareness of national service and volunteer opportunities at a
young age by creating, expanding and promoting service options for primary and
secondary school students and by raising awareness of existing incentives.”
That is, “existing incentives” as determined by the government.
In addition to Obama’s election campaign pledge to create a 250,000 strong
national security force as big, powerful and well-funded as our combined U.S.
military forces, Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has authored a book (The
Plan: Big Ideas for America) that calls for three months of compulsory civil
service for all Americans aged 18 to 25.
So it looks like the goblin of compulsory national service has not gone away,
it has simply morphed into another bill, soon to be considered by the House.
One thing is for certain: the federal government considers you and your
children little more than ciphers to be press ganged into mandatory “service”
to a government addicted to wars waged in the name of international bankers.

State sovereignty must be altered in
globalized era
In the age of globalization, states should give up
some sovereignty to world bodies in order to protect their own interests

For 350 years, sovereignty -- the notion that states are the central actors
on the world stage and that governments are essentially free to do what they
want within their own territory but not within the territory of other states --
has provided the organizing principle of international relations. The time has
come to rethink this notion.
The world's 190-plus states now co-exist with a larger number of powerful
non-sovereign and at least partly (and often largely) independent actors,
ranging from corporations to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), from
terrorist groups to drug cartels, from regional and global institutions to banks
and private equity funds. The sovereign state is influenced by them (for better
and for worse) as much as it is able to influence them. The near monopoly of
power once enjoyed by sovereign entities is being eroded.
As a result, new mechanisms are needed for regional and global governance
that include actors other than states. This is not to argue that Microsoft,
Amnesty International, or Goldman Sachs be given seats in the UN General
Assembly, but it does mean including representatives of such organizations in
regional and global deliberations when they have the capacity to affect whether
and how regional and global challenges are met.
Less is more
Moreover, states must be prepared to cede some sovereignty to world
bodies if the international system is to function. This is already taking place
in the trade realm. Governments agree to accept the rulings of the WTO because
on balance they benefit from an international trading order even if a particular
decision requires that they alter a practice that is their sovereign right to
carry out.
Some governments are prepared to give up elements of sovereignty to address
the threat of global climate change. Under one such arrangement, the Kyoto
Protocol, which runs through 2012, signatories agree to cap specific emissions.
What is needed now is a successor arrangement in which a larger number of
governments, including the US, China, and India, accept emissions limits or
adopt common standards because they recognize that they would be worse off if no
country did.
All of this suggests that sovereignty must be redefined if states are to cope
with globalization. At its core, globalization entails the increasing volume,
velocity, and importance of flows -- within and across borders -- of people,
ideas, greenhouse gases, goods, dollars, drugs, viruses, e-mails, weapons and a
good deal else, challenging one of sovereignty's fundamental principles: the
ability to control what crosses borders in either direction. Sovereign states
increasingly measure their vulnerability not to one another, but to forces
beyond their control.
Globalization thus implies that sovereignty is not only becoming weaker in
reality, but that it needs to become weaker. States would be wise to weaken
sovereignty in order to protect themselves, because they cannot insulate
themselves from what goes on elsewhere. Sovereignty is no longer a sanctuary.
This was demonstrated by the American and world reaction to terrorism.
Afghanistan's Taliban government, which provided access and support to al-Qaeda,
was removed from power. Similarly, the US' preventive war against an Iraq that
ignored the UN and was thought to possess weapons of mass destruction showed
that sovereignty no longer provides absolute protection.
Imagine how the world would react if some government were known to be
planning to use or transfer a nuclear device or had already done so. Many would
argue -- correctly -- that sovereignty provides no protection for that state.
Necessity may also lead to reducing or even eliminating sovereignty when a
government, whether from a lack of capacity or conscious policy, is unable to
provide for the basic needs of its citizens. This reflects not simply scruples,
but a view that state failure and genocide can lead to destabilizing refugee
flows and create openings for terrorists to take root.
The NATO intervention in Kosovo was an example where a number of governments
chose to violate the sovereignty of another government (Serbia) to stop ethnic
cleansing and genocide. By contrast, the mass killing in Rwanda a decade ago and
now in Darfur, Sudan, demonstrate the high price of judging sovereignty to be
supreme and thus doing little to prevent the slaughter of innocents.
Conditions needed
Our notion of sovereignty must therefore be conditional, even
contractual, rather than absolute. If a state fails to live up to its side of
the bargain by sponsoring terrorism, either transferring or using weapons of
mass destruction, or conducting genocide, then it forfeits the normal benefits
of sovereignty and opens itself up to attack, removal or occupation.
The diplomatic challenge for this era is to gain widespread support for
principles of state conduct and a procedure for determining remedies when these
principles are violated.
The goal should be to redefine sovereignty for the era of globalization, to
find a balance between a world of fully sovereign states and an international
system of either world government or anarchy.
The basic idea of sovereignty, which still provides a useful constraint on
violence between states, needs to be preserved. But the concept needs to be
adapted to a world in which the main challenges to order come from what global
forces do to states and what governments do to their citizens rather than from
what states do to one another.

Both the IMF and the United Nations have
thrown their weight behind proposals to implement a new world reserve currency
system to replace the dollar as part of the acceleration towards a global
financial dictatorship, in the same week that Treasury Secretary Timothy
Geithner told CFR globalists that he was “open” to the idea.
As
we reported yesterday, Timothy Geithner initially renounced a Chinese
and Russian proposal to supplant the dollar with a new global currency, but he
later told CFR elitists, who have consistently lobbied for a global currency as
part of a wider agenda for global government, that he was “open” to the
idea. Indeed, before Geithner was appointed by Obama when he was still president
of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, he
argued for a new global central banking system shortly after
attending the 2008 Bilderberg meeting.
Now the U.N. and the IMF have thrown their
weight behind the move and reports indicate that the matter will be a major
point of discussion at the upcoming G20 conference, with officials having
initially dismissed speculation that a global currency would be on the agenda.
“A UN panel of expert economists pressed
Thursday for a new global currency reserve scheme to replace the volatile,
dollar-based system and for coordinated steps by rich countries to stimulate
their economies,”
reports AFP.
“A new Global Reserve System — what may be
viewed as a greatly expanded SDR (Special Drawing Rights), with regular or
cyclically adjusted emissions calibrated to the size of reserve accumulations,
could contribute to global stability, economic strength and global equity,”
the panel said.
In addition, “IMF managing director
Dominique Strauss-Kahn said that talks on a new global reserve currency to
replace the US dollar were “legitimate” and could take place “in the
coming months,” according to the report.
As
we have repeatedly warned, the introduction of a new global currency
system is a key cornerstone in the move towards global government, centralized
control and more power being concentrated into fewer hands.
The swift and ruthless exploitation of the
economic meltdown on behalf of globalists and central banks who caused the
problem in the first place revolves around their drive for a global monetary
union, which is a directive coming from the very inner core of the CFR and the
Bilderberg Group.
The Federal Reserve is already is a private
organization and as such unaccountable to the American people. A global central
bank, which is effectively what a new global reserve currency system will
create, will establish a de facto financial dictatorship which will wield power
over the economies of every country on the planet with no accountability
whatsoever.
The ruling elite resolved long ago to force a
global currency down our throats. In fact, a global currency is at the very core
of their plan to dominate the world. Control money and you control the destiny
of states, you eliminate national sovereignty. “The control of money and
credit strikes at the very heart of national sovereignty,” A.W. Clausen,
president of Bank of America once observed.
As Georgetown professor and CFR historian
Carroll Quigley noted, the goal of the banking families and their minions
consists of “nothing less than to create a world system of financial control
in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the
economy of the world as a whole… controlled in a feudalist fashion by the
central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in
frequent private meetings and conferences.”
In 2007, Robert Mundell, “the father of the
euro,” noted that “international monetary reform usually becomes possible
only in response to a felt need and the threat of a global crisis.”
That very crisis arrived shortly after,
providing the elite with the perfect opportunity to ram
through a massive program of financial centralization by posing as the saviors -
when they created the problem in the first place.
The very actions of the elite will continue to worsen the
financial crisis, providing the necessary political capital for them to
institute what they had planned all along - a new global currency for the global
government that they plan to implement thereafter.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has introduced
legislation that would “bar the dollar from being replace by any foreign
currency.” A statement from Bachmann’s website:
“Yesterday, during a Financial Services Committee hearing, I asked
Secretary Geithner if he would denounce efforts to move towards a global
currency and he answered unequivocally that he would,” said Bachmann. “And
President Obama gave the nation the same assurances. But just a day later,
Secretary Geithner has left the option on the table. I want to know which it
is. The American people deserve to know.”
On Monday, Geithner and Bernanke both rejected the idea of a global currency
in Congressional testimony. But in remarks to the Council on Foreign
Relations yesterday, Geithner
indicated he was open to the idea.
In
the wake of discussions of and hints at a move toward a new global currency, a
Republican Congresswoman has introduced a resolution in the House “that would
bar the dollar from being replaced by any foreign currency.”
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann announced
the resolution on her website along with a press release
entitled“Bachmann Demands Truth: Will Obama Administration Abandon Dollar for
a Multi-National Currency?”
The Press release states:
“Yesterday, during a Financial Services Committee hearing, I
asked Secretary Geithner if he would denounce efforts to move towards a global
currency and he answered unequivocally that he would,” said Bachmann. “And
President Obama gave the nation the same assurances. But just a day later,
Secretary Geithner has left the option on the table. I want to know which it is.
The American people deserve to know.”
Bachmann is referring to the incident
we reported on yesterday, when Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner
performed a 180 degree reversal of his own comments from just one day earlier,
assuring the elite Council On Foreign Relations group that he and the president
were “open” to the notion of a new global currency system.
“Despite attempts to clarify his remarks later in the day, the
unguarded initial response calls into question his true intentions.” Bachmann
states.
Bachmann’s resolution points out that Title 31, Sec. 5103 of
the Constitution prohibits foreign currency from being recognized in the U.S.
Representative
Bachmann has built a reputation as an outspoken and unwavering
character in Congress. She opposed both federal bailout bills and has continued
to question the legitimacy of the Treasury’s economic policy.
She has also previously been lambasted by the mainstream media
for expressing concerns that Barack Obama and some members of Congress may have
anti-American interests, for suggesting that global warming is caused by natural
cycles and that the real agenda in Iraq is balkanization.
Concerns over a move toward a new global currency are long standing, however,
they recently came to a head when China
expressed support for Russia’s proposal to hand the IMF the power
to create a new supra-national global currency in response to the call for an
alternative to the U.S. dollar as the world reserve currency.
The creation of a new reserve currency to supplant the U.S. dollar would
likely lead to a complete collapse of the greenback, of which trillions are held
in in foreign exchange reserves by foreign countries such as China and Japan.
Two days ago Both Obama and Geithner denounced the plans, but as
we reported, their actions and policies are greasing the skids for
a complete collapse and abandonment of the dollar.
Furthermore, today both the IMF
and the United Nations have thrown their weight behind the
proposals to implement a new world reserve currency.
Meanwhile, Geithner’s comments at the CFR have sent
the dollar plunging against the euro, yen, and sterling.
“The mere fact that the US Treasury Secretary is even entertaining thoughts
that the dollar may cease being the anchor of the global monetary system has
caused consternation,” David Bloom, currency chief at HSBC said.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said a make-shift tent city for
the homeless that sprang up in the capital city of Sacramento will be shut down
and its residents allowed to stay at the state fairgrounds.
The homeless will be “allowed” to stay at Cal-Expo? More like they will
be required to stay there, either that or hit the streets.
“Together with the local government and volunteers, we are taking a first
step to ensure the people living in tent city have a safe place to stay, with
fresh water, healthy conditions and access to the services they need,” said
Herr Schwarzenegger, California’s Uber-gov.

How government treats the homeless: New
Orleans’ Super Dome in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
California, home to one of every eight Americans, has been particularly
hard hit by the housing market collapse after many residents turned to exotic
mortgages to afford homes. The tent city, which has long existed along the banks
of the America River, gained national attention last month when some of its
recently homeless residents were featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
In other words, the homeless, usually out-of-sight and thus out-of-mind, are
a public relations disaster for Arnie and officialdom in California. Now that
they will be forced to live in the deteriorating Cal-Expo, media access can be
micro-managed by the state. “Too much media attention can be a bad thing. At
least that seems to be the case for a tent city of 200 that sprang up a year ago
in Sacramento,” the Los
Angeles Times reported last week.
Cassandra
Jennings, Sacramento’s assistant city manager, told KCRA 3 “what’s
envisioned is a single, large tent with individual spaces or compartments and
that there is no interest in recreating the existing tent city at Cal Expo.”
“Shelters are like institutions,” remarked
one homeless man.
“At shelters you must share space with junkies, drunks, anti-social and
emotionally deprived people. Shelters are dangerous, and violent. Rather than
staying in a shelter and in order to preserve one’s sense of self, people stay
in cars, crash with friends (’couch surfing’) or otherwise stay in the woods
or on the streets somewhere,” writes Dana
Szegedy, a student who experienced homelessness.
In the months ahead, as the economy continues its engineered implosion, local
governments around the country may resort to the Camp Arnie solution to
homelessness. Camp Arnie will reportedly hold a few hundred people (who are
described as “chronic homeless,” not victims of foreclosure and
unemployment) but it will stretch beyond capacity as unemployment and
foreclosure homelessness increase.
Arnie puts the best face on the
embarassing homeless problem in Sacramento.
As an example of what may be in store, consider the situation in New Orleans
post-Katrina. Katrina produced a burgeoning population of homeless people who
had lost their homes and were reduced to living on the street. In response,
Mayor Ray Nagin’s administration cooked up a new public habitation law to move
“vagrants” (victims) to a bunkhouse at the New Orleans Mission, according to
the Lost
in New Orleans blog.
What the mission calls its “bunkhouse,” an air-conditioned, heated
Quonset-style tent erected at the back of its property, can hold 140 men.
About 100 more men can sleep on the mission’s second floor, but only if the
shelter hires a “firewatch,” because of its building’s current fire
hazards. Women stay in a separate house, which has space for eight more, said
Ron Gonzales, the shelter’s director.
Nagin planned to institutionalize the homeless. It looks like California is
in the process of doing the same. Prior to this, Nagin “suggested a way to
reduce this city’s post-Katrina homeless population: give them one-way bus
tickets out of town.” Nagin’s frustration was a direct response to FEMA’s
handling of the homeless crisis — the supposed emergency management agency put
the displaced in toxic trailers and then dumped them on the street. “While
some have moved to homes of relatives in other states, others are living in
cars, or have joined the rapidly growing New Orleans homeless population,” Deepa
Fernandes wrote for Mother Jones in 2008.
FEMA’s ludicrously (and maybe prophetically) named toxic trailer camp —
“Renaissance Village” — was in essence a concentration camp. “When you
first drive up on the FEMA site you see a chain-link fenced in property with
stark crowded trailers and no trespassing signs posted along the perimeter. When
you drive up to the entrance you will see security guards at the front gate. It
doesn’t take much of a closer look to notice that the security guards are
armed. FEMA requires all residents to carry Renaissance Village ID badges at all
times,” explains
a blog on the subject.
You will have to show your ID’s, tell them who you are going to see and
their trailer number and they will write down your license plate number on
your vehicle when you come in. Mark Misczak, the agency’s human services
director for Louisiana said it is“private, like a gated community”. It is
unlike any gated community we have ever known of, except a prison. When the
site opened FEMA had a ban on firearms.
“It is wrong to force citizens to give up their constitutional rights in
order for them to get a needed federal benefit,” said NRA Executive Vice
President Wayne LaPierre.
Of course homeless people reduced to entering a fenced FEMA camp surrounded
by armed guards shouldn’t expect to exercise their constitutional rights. In
fact, they didn’t have the right to talk to the media, either. At a FEMA
concentration camp in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, in 2006 a
reporter was prevented from talking to inmates.
Dekotha Devall, whose New Orleans home was destroyed by the storm, was in
her FEMA-provided trailer telling the Advocate reporter of the hardships of
life in the camp when a security guard knocked on the door.
“You are not allowed to be here,” the guard is quoted as telling the
reporter. “Get out right now.” The guard reportedly called police to force
the journalist to leave the camp, and even prevented the reporter from giving
the interview subject a business card. “You will not give her a business
card,” the guard said. “She’s not allowed to have that.”
Later, at another FEMA camp in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, the reporter
attempted to talk to camp resident Pansy Ardeneaux through a chain link fence
when the same guard halted the interview. “You are not allowed to talk to
these people,” the guard told Ardeneaux. “Return to your trailer now.”
The reporter said she and an accompanying photographer were “ordered…not
to talk to anyone or take pictures.”
In September, 2006, renowned journalist Greg
Palast was charged with crimes against the state for filming a FEMA toxic
trailer concentration camp, deemed a “critical national security structure,”
described by Palast as an ” aluminum ghetto in the middle of nowhere.”
Arnie Schwarzenegger (an admitted fan of a man who pioneered many concentration
camp techniques) is attempting to drastically curtail media access to the
growing number of homeless in his state by locking the down-and-out up in a
concentration camp at Cal-Expo. Is it possible Arnie will post armed guards
around the homeless containment pens at Cal-Expo to run off the media in the
same way FEMA did? Bet on it.
Eventually this out-of-sight-out-mind damage control tactic will fail. As the
economy implodes and the number of unemployed, foreclosed, and homeless increase
around the country it will be impossible for government to sweep the problem
under the rug — or in the case of California, sweep it into a livestock pen at
the state fair grounds.
Is it possible the KBR
constructed camps situated around the country — camps Glenn Beck tells us
do not exist — are intended to lock-down millions of angry and desperate
unemployed people in the months and years ahead?
A shocking document
has come to light from a church in Ohio which educates its congregation that
Barack Obama’s presidency is appointed by God and that Obama himself is
“God’s minister,” in another perversion of Romans 13, the bible verse
cited as an excuse for Christians not to oppose tyranny.

was responsible for distributing the pamphlet, which was handed out at the
Assembly of God church in Ohio, according to a reader who forwarded the document

“This was handed out at the Assembly of God
church that my fiance and I used to attend. We immediately stopped attending
after getting this flier about ’submitting to Obama and the government,’
states the reader.
“The pastor even brought children to the
front of the church, encouraging them to submit to teachers, firemen, and the
police. It was insane.”
“I confronted the pastor about his stance on
Romans 13, a year prior, and he assured me that he would never sell out his
church. This sermon was given on the immediate Sunday after Obama’s election
win. Please post this and inform others about it. I never, ever thought this
would happen in the church I was attending, but thankfully, we were informed
enough to leave this church,” he concludes.
The document cites Romans 13 verses 1-4 and
claims that the following “paraphrases” can be interpreted from the bible.
- Barack Obama’s presidency is appointed by God. (v 1)
- Christians should lead the way in supporting Barack
Obama’s presidency. (v 2)
- Barack Obama’s presidency can be a force for good and a
deterrent against evil. (v 3)
- As president, Barack Obama is God’s minister to you for
good. (v 4)
The document concedes that a majority of
practicing Christians probably didn’t even vote for Obama because of his
pro-abortion policies,
indeed one of Obama’s first acts as President was to issue an
executive order which ensured that millions more black babies are aborted in
third world countries, with American taxpayers picking up the tab.
Despite this, the document urges Christians to
“support loudly” Obama’s policies and “remember who is in control”.
Romans 13 has routinely been cited by tyrants
throughout history in an attempt to prevent Christians from opposing their rule,
indeed, it was Hitler’s favorite bible verse. Religious groups such as the
Catholics in 1930’s Germany also used the verse as an excuse not to rise up
against the Nazis when they were still a minority political party.
A large number of mainstream church
representatives claim that Romans 13 means Christians should obey the ruling
authorities no matter how tyrannical they are, and yet the bible itself is full
of examples of men standing up to corrupt authorities and attempting to change
the system - Jesus, John the Baptist and Moses being the prime examples.
Should Jesus have refrained from throwing the
money changers out of the temple? Should Moses have cowered from standing up to
the Egyptian slave masters? Should John the Baptist have kept quiet about the
sinful practices of Herod Antipas, his condemnation of which led to his
beheading?
The fact that large churches in America are
encouraging their congregation to all but obey the government and support their
agenda even if it opposes basic Christian principles is a shocking indictment of
how much control the state now exercises over the church through the carrot of
the 501(c)(3) Status dangled in front of corruptible pastors and preachers.
Ominously.
as we first exposed in 2006, FEMA is training pastors and other
religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their
congregations to “obey the government” in preparation for a declaration of
martial law, property and firearm seizures, and forced relocation. The bible
verse that FEMA encourages religious representatives to cite while undertaking
this role? Romans 13.
The individual who
forwarded the document noted that around the time the sermon was given, the
church seemed to have an influx of funds.
“This church has a new stage with flat
screen monitors, updated church vans, and is talking about expanding the church
by building a new church, which all occurred around the giving of this sermon.
Mind you, we were having a hard time buying new chairs for our church, no more
than a year ago. Coincidence?” he writes.
WASHINGTON–Warning that they can’t depend on
unending taxpayer dollars, President Barack Obama on Monday gave General Motors
Corp. and Chrysler LLC a brief window to craft plans that would justify fresh
government loans.
“We cannot, we must not, and we will not let our auto industry simply
vanish,” President Obama said at the White House.
“What we are asking is difficult,” he said. “It will require hard
choices by companies. It will require unions and workers who have already made
painful concessions to make even more. It will require creditors to recognize
that they cannot hold out for the prospect of endless government bailouts.”
The remarks come a day after the administration ousted GM Chief Executive
Rick Wagoner and rejected the restructuring plans that GM and Chrysler had hoped
would lead to another infusion of government cash. Instead, the White House is
giving GM 60 days to come up with a strategy for viability. Chrysler has a month
to wrap up a partnership with Italy’s Fiat SpA.

When a vaccine designed to protect girls against a sexually transmitted virus
arrived three years ago, the debate centered on one question: Would the shots
make young girls more likely to have sex?
Now the vaccine's maker is trying to get approval to sell the vaccine for
boys, and the debate is focusing on something else entirely: Is it worth the
money, and is it safe and effective enough?
"We are still more worried about the promiscuity of girls than the
promiscuity of boys," said Susan M. Reverby, a professor of women's
studies and medical history at Wellesley College. "There's still that
double standard."
The shift in the discussion about Gardasil illustrates the complex
interplay of political, economic, scientific, regulatory and social factors
that increasingly influence decisions about new types of medical care. For the
vaccine, the new dynamic reflects a strategic tack by Gardasil's critics,
growing concern about health-care costs, fears about whether medical
treatments are being vetted adequately and stubborn biases about gender,
experts say.
"There is the cost, the safety, the boys versus girls," said
Susan F. Wood, a professor of public health at George Washington University.
"These are some of the complexities that are going to have to be
addressed one way or the other with this vaccine."
Gardasil protects against the human papillomavirus, the most common sexually
transmitted infection. HPV causes genital warts and, in women, can lead to
cervical cancer -- a disease that strikes about 10,000 American women a year and
kills about 3,700.
For males, the vaccine is aimed at protecting against genital warts and less
common malignancies that HPV can cause, such as penile and anal cancer, as well
as cancer of the mouth and throat. The virus causes at least 250,000 new cases
of genital warts and an estimated 7,500 cancers in males each year, causing
perhaps about 1,000 deaths. Vaccinating boys and men would also help prevent the
spread of the virus to their sexual partners.
"By vaccinating men as well as women, you reduce the amount of virus
that is out there that can be transmitted back and forth," said Richard M.
Haupt, who leads the HPV vaccine program at Merck & Co., which makes
Gardasil. "Hopefully there will be a benefit not only to men themselves,
but to their partners and future partners."
After the Food and Drug Administration approved the vaccine in 2006 for girls
as young as 9, medical authorities recommended that they receive it at age 11 or
12 to protect them before they start having sex. Critics worried that
vaccinating children would send a subtle signal that their parents assumed they
would become sexually active and that it would give youngsters a false sense of
security.
Merck also began an ambitious marketing campaign and lobbying push to
persuade states to add the vaccine to the list of those required for children to
attend school. But the company eventually abandoned the strategy in the face of
an intense backlash from critics who argued that the decision should be left to
parents. Although many states considered such mandates, so far only Virginia and
the District have imposed one, and Haupt said the company has no plans to pursue
that strategy again.
But in December, Merck asked the FDA to approve the vaccine for males ages 9
to 26, and in February it presented the results of a large study that tested the
vaccine in men to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's
Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, in the hopes of winning the
panel's endorsement. The committee's recommendations influence which vaccines
schools require and whether private insurance companies and state programs will
pay.
"There would be a tremendous public health benefit to vaccine 11- and
12-year-olds, both boys and girls," Haupt said.
TAMPA — A proposed law would make flu shots mandatory
for any child about to enroll in a child care facility.
The proposed law would affect children by making sure they had the vaccination
before they are allowed to attend preschool.
Pediatrician John McCormick said he thinks parents should be vaccinating
their children even without the law.
“It’s naturally a good idea to go ahead and do this in the daycare
setting,” he said.
McCormick said that, in the past, there have been supply issues, but he
doesn’t foresee that being as much of a problem. However, the financial aspect
of the vaccination is a concern
“The only true hold back is cost,” he said.
While the proposed law makes its way through Tallahassee, Maria Lopez, the
owner of Tampa’s Play Care, is already taking steps to prevent the spread of
the flu. She requires all of her employees to get the flu shot, and she hopes it
will be made mandatory for the kids, too.
Pharmaceutical pollution is out of control, polluting the waterways of our
world to such a disturbing degree that now even the fish are carrying detectable
levels of pharmaceuticals in their own bodies! A study conducted by Baylor
University researcher Bryan Brooks, and published in Environmental Toxicology
and Chemistry, examined fish caught near Phoenix, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia
and Orlando, testing them for residues of pharmaceuticals. And what did the
results show? That fish are contaminated with a chemical cocktail of
prescription medications!
The research was funded by a $150,000 grant from the EPA, and it found the
fish to be contaminated with:
• Seven different pharmaceuticals, including cholesterol drugs, blood
pressure drugs, allergy drugs and psychiatric medications used to treat bipolar
disorder and depression.
• Two different chemicals used as artificial fragrance in soaps.
These trace chemicals were found in fish near all of the sites tested…
except for one: In order to establish a baseline reference of healthy,
non-contaminated fish, researchers also caught fish in the Gila River Wilderness
Area of New Mexico, which is far from any cities or developments. Care to guess
what they found there? No pharmaceuticals contamination whatsoever.
It is quite clear from this research that pharmaceuticals have become a
widespread source of chemical pollution that has permeated delicate aquatic
ecosystems and now poses a serious threat to our environment.
Big Pharma pollutes the world
Big Pharma’s drugs pollute the world TWICE: First in the minds and bodies
of those who take them, and then secondly in the rivers and oceans where toxic
residues of the pharmaceuticals inevitably accumulate.
Remember this: Every pill of every pharmaceutical that is manufactured for
Big Pharma eventually ends up in the environment! Probably at least half of
them are just flushed down the toilet or washed down the drains, which remains
standard practice at hospitals.
Strikingly, pharmaceuticals are not currently regulated by the EPA even
though they pose a significant (and growing) risk to the environment. There is
no question, for example, that pharmaceuticals are toxic to fish and aquatic
mammals in much the same way they are toxic to humans.
Pill-pushing apologists, of course, claim that the trace levels of
pharmaceutical found in the fish are so low that they are of no concern
whatsoever. To that ridiculous standard of safety, I say, “Prove it!”
To date, there have been absolutely no safety tests conducted on the
combinations of pharmaceuticals that are being found in public water supplies,
waterways and oceans around the world. Anyone who says these chemicals are
safe is merely taking a wild (and foolish) guess. They are also probably
working for Big Pharma.
It is not the responsibility of environmentalists to prove that such
chemicals are toxic to the environment. Rather, it is the duty of drug
companies to prove their chemicals are SAFE for the environment! And that, by
the way, cannot be done, because these drugs are, in reality, toxic to
virtually all life forms, even at low doses.

MEXICO CITY, March 25 -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton traveled
to Mexico
on Wednesday with a blunt mea culpa, saying that decades of U.S. anti-narcotics
policies have been a failure and have contributed to the explosion of drug
violence south of the border.
"Clearly what we've been doing has not worked," Clinton told
reporters on her plane at the start of her two-day trip, saying that U.S.
policies on curbing drug use, narcotics shipments and the flow of guns have
been ineffective.
"Our insatiable demand for illegal drugs fuels the drug trade," she
added. "Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled
across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police, of
soldiers and civilians."
Clinton appeared to go further than any senior government official in recent
years in accepting a U.S. role in the long-contentious issue of the Latin
American narcotics trade. In the past, U.S. politicians have accused Mexico, the
main gateway for cocaine, heroin and other drugs entering the United States, of
not doing enough. But two years ago, President Felipe Calderón unleashed the
Mexican military on traffickers, a move that has contributed to an explosion of
violence by drug gangs. More than 7,000 Mexicans have been killed in the
bloodletting since January 2008, with the gangs battling authorities and one
another for supremacy.
Mexicans, sensitive to slights from their richer northern neighbor, have
reacted with outrage in recent weeks as the U.S. Joint Forces Command and some
senior U.S. officials have suggested that the drug problem is so severe that
Mexico is losing control of parts of its territory.
Clinton sought to soothe the wounded feelings, praising Calderón's
"courage" and announcing that the Obama administration is seeking $66
million in new funding for extra helicopters for the Mexican police. She also
pledged further unspecified steps to block the movement of guns southward, and
acknowledged that proceeds from drugs sold in the United States -- an estimated
$15 billion to $25 billion a year -- support Mexican drug gangs.
Clinton's comments came at the start of a U.S. blitz to emphasize support for
Mexico's embattled government and improve relations with Latin America. The
Obama administration announced Tuesday that it is sending hundreds more agents
and extra high-tech gear to the border to intercept weapons and drug proceeds
heading south. U.S. border states have become alarmed about a possible spillover
of the drug violence, and Congress has held hearings on the drug war.
Clinton vowed to press for swift delivery of equipment promised under the
Merida Initiative, a three-year $1.4 billion package of anti-drug assistance to
Mexico and Central America. Mexican officials and U.S. lawmakers say there are
long lag times for helicopters and other desperately needed gear. In addition,
Mexicans complain that Congress has approved only $700 million of the $950
million that the Bush administration requested for the program since it began
last year.
Clinton was greeted warmly by Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa, who
called her a "close friend" at a news conference. The Mexican official
said that "we recognize very much these efforts that are now being
undertaken by U.S. authorities" to combat the flow of guns and drug
proceeds into Mexico.
But Mexican officials have indicated that they are hoping for more U.S.
action. The Obama administration is trying to draw up a broader regional
strategy on the drug problem to ensure that traffickers chased from one country
do not simply move to another, aides said. One reason Mexico has emerged as a
major drug hub is because the routes for trafficking Colombian cocaine have
shifted away from the Caribbean islands.
Clinton's visit comes as some prominent Latin Americans are urging the United
States to reexamine its drug policies. Last month, former presidents of Brazil,
Colombia and Mexico called on the United States in a report to consider
legalizing marijuana use and focusing more on treatment for drug users. Obama
has emphasized his support for expanded treatment facilities, although not for
allowing marijuana use.
In addition to Clinton, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. plan to visit Mexico in the coming weeks,
leading up to a mid-April trip by Obama. The president will then attend the
Summit of the Americas, a gathering of the region's 34 democratically elected
heads of state and government, on April 17 and 18 in Trinidad and Tobago.
Calling in to the Alex Jones show today, WeAreChange founder and political
activist Luke Rudkowski said he was set-up for arrest at the Hilton Hotel on
Manhattan last Saturday. Luke was at the hotel in order to ask New York City
mayor Michael Bloomberg about his refusal to help with the medical costs of 9/11
first responders. Bloomberg had promised to address the issue but has since
ignored the pleas of WeAreChange and others to help first responders.
Rudkowski said Bloomberg’s security detail and hotel security claimed he
would not leave the hotel. Luke told Jones he asked to leave the premise on
numerous occasions and was not allowed to do so.
Anthony Verias, who accompanied Rudkowski, told Alex they were victims of a
“classic set-up.” Verias was assaulted and brought into an office where he
was subjected to intimidation and harassment by hotel security and Bloomberg’s
plainclothes “goons,” as Anthony described them.
Luke said fellow WeAreChange activist Manny Valencia was assaulted as he
taped Rudkowski’s arrest and his camera was confiscated.
Rudkowski said conditions at Manhattan Central Booking are deplorable. He
said the holding cells were overcrowded with overflowing toilets and infested
with cockroaches. Corrections officers told Rudkowski because his case is
political his files would be lost and his court appearance delayed.
The police would not return WeAreChange cameras and video footage because
they consider it evidence in a criminal case. Luke was told he would have to go
through the District Attorney and his lawyers to get the footage and equipment
returned. Police told Rudkowski the videotapes may be erased.
Rudkowski said police were generally supportive and helpful even though the
police did not offer vouchers for WeAreChange equipment and videotapes.
Rudkowski asked for the vouchers.
Luke faces a trial in two months on a charge of criminal trespass.
Rudkowski, Manny Valencia, and Anthony Verias will appear later this evening
on the Infowarrior show with Jason Bermas.
We Are Change New York members have described the “inhumane, insane and
surreal” experience of being arrested by police for asking Mayor Bloomberg a
question and promise that “the full story of this incident is yet to be
heard.”
Luke Rudkowski, along with fellow We Are Change members Manny
and Anthony, were all arrested on Saturday night for asking Bloomberg a question
about 9/11 first responders outside the Hilton Hotel on Sixth Avenue.
They followed orders by police to stay in one designated area
and yet were arrested for trespassing and were later hit with the charge of
“impersonating a journalist,” despite having Infowars press credentials.
As The
George Washington Blog points out today, “The media organization which
sponsors Rudkowski is Infowars.com, a website which has many times the
readership of small town “establishment” or “professional” newspapers.
Indeed, given the popularity of Infowars and its sister sites, Prisonplanet.com
and Jonesreport.com, the Infowars news network probably has more readers than
all but the largest traditional newspapers. So the issue cannot be one of size
or audience.”
Our recent exclusive report about the MIAC controversy became a
national story, being covered by Fox News and the Associated Press, amongst

Donofrio claims Obama had dual nationality at birth — his mother was American

Pennsylvania Democrat Philip J. Berg sued Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic

is not a natural-born citizen and thus not eligible to be president of the
United States. Judge R. Barclay Surrick dismissed the case on October 24, 2008.
Surrick concluded that ordinary citizens can’t sue to ensure that a
presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the

Surrick deferred to Congress and said the legislature must determine if
“citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution’s

George Carlin was right: this country was bought and
paid for a long time ago and it’s run by the banks and the state. I knew this
but I’m not sure I understood it until recently.
I recently took a new job in Milwaukee, Wi. In preparation for my relocation I
called my creditors in an effort to responsibly manage my finances and see if
for the month or two that I would be financially overburdened with the move if I
could defer my payments. That small sum of money would be immeasurable in
helping us shoulder the costs of relocation. My new company is reimbursing me,
of course, but I still have to incur the costs up front. My creditors were more
than willing to help except for Bank of America. I was in good standing with BOA

checking account and at the same time there were other pending transactions, BOA
would process the largest transaction first, causing all the smaller
transactions to overdraw my account to which they would charge me a $35
overdraft fee for each one. They would do this rather than posting the smaller
transactions first and posting the largest one last therefore incurring only the
one overdraft fee.

Mechanics are trotted out again to deny the existence of manifestly provable
internment camps in America
Fox News blowhard Glenn Beck is up to his old
tricks again - after attempting to convince the public that he was some kind of
crusader against the new world order he is now giving a platform to arch-yellow
journalist debunker James Meigs of Popular Mechanics in a pathetic attempt to
discredit so-called “conspiracy theories” behind FEMA camps.
After announcing yesterday on his show that he
called Meigs three weeks ago to have him look at the issue of FEMA camps, Beck
then attacks the credibility of the Internet before turning to Meigs, who states
that Popular Mechanics has assigned one of their illustrious reporters to the
issue, presumably from the same pool of reporters who made such infantile,
glaring and agenda-driven botch jobs of “debunking” 9/11 truth.
Despite admitting that they haven’t deeply
researched the issue, Meigs makes it clear that they have already decided it
“isn’t true” - proving once again that the whole process isn’t about
really getting to the bottom of the issue, it’s about debunking a perfectly
provable fact by means of strawman tactics and deceitful reasoning.
“It looks from our early reporting like a
classic conspiracy theory,” claims Meigs, adding, “Little grains of truth
all adding up to something that really isn’t true.”
Beck and Meigs are going to go full court
press in attempting to debunk the issue a week on Monday - April 6th.

something that isn’t true? This is quite rich coming from a guy whose
military-industrial complex rag is put out by by Hearst Publishing - the very
progenitors of the term “yellow journalism”.
But who are we to question the expertise of
James Meigs? The illustrious former editor of those serious and scholarly
publications Video Review and Entertainment Weekly.
Little grains of truth that add up to
something that isn’t true?
The fact that internment facilities inside
America have been built and prepared for the incarceration of American citizens
is not a “conspiracy theory,” it is a manifestly provable fact, and we have
tirelessly written article after article documenting the reality of FEMA camps.
The purpose of such facilities is to provide
“temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and
families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster,” the expansion of
which under FEMA is codified under HR 645, otherwise known as the National
Emergency Centers Act.
Ominously, the bill states that the camps can be used to
“meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland
Security,” an open ended mandate which many fear could mean the forced
detention of American citizens in the event of widespread rioting after a
national emergency or total economic collapse.
The issue of containment camps re-gained
national attention three years ago when it
was announced that Kellogg, Brown and Root had been awarded a $385
million dollar contract by Homeland Security to construct detention and
processing facilities in the event of a national emergency.
The language of the preamble to the agreement
veils the program with talk of temporary migrant holding centers, but it is made
clear that the camps will also be used “as the development of a plan to react
to a national emergency.”
Following the story, first given wide attention by
Prisonplanet.com, the Alternet
website put together an alarming report that collated all the latest
information on plans to initiate internment of political subversives and Muslims
after the next major terror attack in the US.
The article highlighted the disturbing comments of Sen.
Lindsey Graham, who encouraged torture-supporting former Attorney General
Alberto Gonzales to target, “Fifth Columnists” Americans who show disloyalty
and sympathize with “the enemy,” whoever that enemy may be.
It is important to stress that the historical precedent
mirrors exactly what the Halliburton camp deal outlines. Oliver North’s Reagan
era Rex
84 plan proposed rounding up 400,000 refugees, under FEMA, in the
event of “uncontrolled population movements” over the Mexican border into
the United States.
The real agenda, just as it is with Halliburton’s gulags,
was to use the cover of rounding up immigrants and illegal aliens as a
smokescreen for targeting political dissidents. From 1967 to 1971 the FBI kept a
list of persons to be rounded up as subversive, dubbed the “ADEX” list.
As recently highlighted by author Naomi Wolf, the National
Counterterrorism Center holds the names of close to one million “terror
suspects” with the number increasing by 20,000 per month.
Discussions of federal concentration camps are no longer
the rhetoric of paranoid Internet conspiracy theorists, they are mainstream
news.
Halliburton, through their KBR subsidiary, is the same
company that built most of the major new detention camps in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
A much discussed and circulated report, the Pentagon’s
Civilian Inmate Labor Program, has recently been updated and the
revision details a “template for developing agreements” between the Army and
corrections facilities for the use of civilian inmate labor on Army
installations.”
The plan is clearly to swallow up disenfranchised groups
like prisoners, immigrants and Muslims at first and then extend the policy to
include ‘Fifth Columnists,’ otherwise known as anyone who disagrees with the
government or exercises their Constitutional rights.
Respected author Peter Dale Scott speculated that the
“detention centers could be used to detain American citizens if the Bush
administration were to declare martial law.”
Daniel Ellsberg, former Special Assistant to Assistant
Secretary of Defense, called the plan, “preparation for a roundup after the
next 9/11 for Mid-Easterners, Muslims and possibly dissenters. They’ve already
done this on a smaller scale, with the ’special registration’ detentions of
immigrant men from Muslim countries, and with Guantanamo.”
Furthermore, In 2002, FEMA sought bids from
major real estate and engineering firms to construct
giant internment facilities in the case of a chemical, biological or
nuclear attack or a natural disaster.
Okanogan County Commissioner Dave Schulz went
public in 2003 with his contention that his county was set to be a
location for one of the camps.
In May 2006, we exposed
the existence of a nationwide FEMA program which is training Pastors
and other religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach
their congregations to “obey the government” in preparation for the
implementation of martial law, property and firearm seizures, mass vaccination
programs and forced relocation.
A whistleblower who was secretly enrolled into
the program told us that the feds were clandestinely recruiting religious
leaders to help implement Homeland Security directives in anticipation of a
potential bio-terrorist attack, any natural disaster or a nationally declared
emergency.
The first directive was for Pastors to
preach to their congregations Romans 13, the often taken out of context bible
passage that was used by Hitler to hoodwink Christians into supporting him, in
order to teach them to “obey the government” when martial law is declared.
It was related to the Pastors that
quarantines, martial law and forced relocation were a problem for state
authorities when enforcing federal mandates due to the “cowboy mentality” of
citizens standing up for their property and second amendment rights as well as
farmers defending their crops and livestock from seizure.
It was stressed that the Pastors needed to
preach subservience to the authorities ahead of time in preparation for the
round-ups and to make it clear to the congregation that “this is for their own
good.”
Pastors were told that they would be backed up
by law enforcement in controlling uncooperative individuals and that they would
even lead SWAT teams in attempting to quell resistance.
Though some doubted the accuracy of this
report at the time due to its fundamentally disturbing implications, the story
was later confirmed by a KSLA 12 news report, in which participating clergy and
officials admitted to the existence of the program.
This program is continuing under the Obama
administration with churches
declaring that Barack Obama’s presidency is appointed by God and
that Obama himself is “God’s minister”.
In another detention camp related development,
last May it was revealed that the federal government is accepting bids on the
contracts from county governments or private companies to build and run “family
detention centers” on both coasts and on the Southwestern border.
Again, as with REX 84, the precedent is to
deal with an influx of immigrants.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency
(ICE) already runs two similar camps, one of which hit the headlines at the end
of 2006 after residents in Taylor Texas held protests outside the The T. Don
Hutto detention facility.
One of the last acts of Congress in 2006 was
to send President Bush a bill that establishes a $38 million program of National
Park Service grants to preserve
Japanese POW internment camps in Hawaii, California, Arizona,
Arkansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. Is this really in the name of
historical interest or does it dovetail with programs on the books to intern
hundreds of thousands of dissidents in a time of crisis?
“What could the government be contemplating
that leads it to make contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of
its own citizens?”, asked former Congressman Dan Hamburg of the watchdog groupVoice of the Environment, Inc. in a article carried by the San
Francisco Chronicle last year.
“Since 9/11, and seemingly without the
notice of most Americans, the federal government has assumed the authority to
institute martial law, arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and non
citizen alike), and detain people without legal or constitutional recourse in
the event of an emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the
rapid development of new programs.” Hamburg co-wrote with Lewis Seiler.
The article continued:
Beginning in 1999, the government has
entered into a series of single-bid contracts with Halliburton subsidiary
Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to build detention camps at undisclosed
locations within the United States. The government has also contracted with
several companies to build thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped
with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees.
According to diplomat and author Peter Dale
Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME,
which sets as its goal the removal of “all removable aliens” and
“potential terrorists.”
Over the past decade we have witnessed an
extreme acceleration of the physical implementation of a framework and
infrastructure ready to receive those who will not go along with a coordinated
destruction of traditional American values and freedom.
You do not need any confirmation one way or
the other on this issue from James Meigs, Fox News or Glenn Beck, who has
a track record as one of the most insidious corporate propagandists
on television.
Just over a year ago Beck was on TV every week
telling
CNN viewers that Ron Paul supporters, libertarians and the anti-war
left were terrorist sympathizers. Beck inferred that the U.S. military should be
used to silence such dissenters, a theme we revealed to be a direct talking
point that could be traced back to a September 2006 White House directive.
Glenn Beck is a modern day Judas Iscariot,
attempting to co-opt the legitimate movement of millions of Americans furious at
the abuse and conduct of their government. His invitation to have the corporate
crony journalistic prostitutes at Popular Mechanics “debunk” the manifestly
provable existence of internment camps in America tells us everything we need to
know about where his sympathies really lie.
Alex Jones, for those who don’t know, is the self-described “tip of the
spear” in the Infowar. Jones is a nationally-syndicated radio host with a
daily listening audience in the hundreds of thousands and he has directed and
produced over 20 documentary films. The most recent film, The Obama Deception,
could in time be remembered as one of the most important films in our history. The
movie is indicative of being rush-released, which it clearly was.
Timing is everything. Mr Jones knew what he was doing in getting this film out
to the masses fast and I would venture is evidence of its critical timeliness at
this moment in history. Never have so many people been so tantalizingly close to
waking up their fellow man to the realities of the world we live in. This film
may be the one to finally do that.
Barack Obama, despite what the Madison Avenue spin doctors try to tell/sell
us, is not the ONE. I think Alex Jones and his film The Obama Deception might
just be the ONE. The title of this film is slightly misleading because
it is not a film about Obama per se, his questionable character, or even the
legitimacy of his presidency in light of the questions surrounding the true
origin of his birth. It does cover some of his campaign messages/promises and
his subsequent reversals upon assuming office. Notably he has shirked
on his commitment to withdrawal the troops from Iraq and also not to appoint
lobbyists to his cabinet.
Though Obama gets top billing in this movie the film isn’t that much about
our spruce pack-a-day new Prez. What it breaks down is the false left-right
paradigm, the military industrial owned and therefore controlled mainstream
media and the unholy alliance between the Federal Government and the private
offshore banking cartel that is the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve
is the crack dealing money machine to the Federal Government which has been an
addict of fiat money since 1913 when Woodrow
Wilson sold our country out to the Wall Street den of vipers and thieves.
This is the film that will finally get people to understand that there is a
shadow government behind the puppet government. It is run by the
Rothschild-Rockefeller-British & Dutch Royal Family and assorted Bilderberg
cohorts. This is the Anglo-American Empire exposed and Jones does better in
exposing the great lie in The Obama Deception than any other film on the subject
to date, even his own earlier films.
Some highlights of the 2 hour film are commentary by the extremely balanced
and knowledgeable historian Webster G. Tarpley, who is the epitome of calm in a
crisis as well as Gerald Celente, top future trends forecaster who long ago saw
the onset of Depression 2009 like a dim light down a subway tunnel. The
best line in this movie goes to seminal hip-hopper Professor Griff of Public
Enemy who asks, “where did we get this sense that just because we have a black
man as President everything is going to be OK…everything is NOT going to be
OK.”

The establishment press is affording sober gravitas to a
Carnegie Institution report that calls for carbon emissions to be reduced to
near zero in order to combat global warming, without mentioning the fact that
such a move would return man to the stone age if not end civilization as we know
it and kill billions.
"The task of cutting greenhouse gas emissions enough to
avert a dangerous rise in global temperatures may be far
more difficult than previous research suggested, say scientists who have just
published studies indicating that it would require the world to cease carbon
emissions altogether within a matter of decades," reports
the Washington Post.
"Their findings, published in separate journals over the
past few weeks, suggest that both industrialized and developing nations must
wean themselves off fossil fuels by as early as mid-century in order to prevent
warming that could change precipitation patterns and dry up sources of water
worldwide."
What would the effects of almost completely outlawing carbon
dioxide emissions be?
The complete reversal of hundreds of years of technological
progress and man's return to the stone age.
Correction - stone age man at least was able to make use of
fire - that too would presumably be banned under the measures being proposed.
Global transport of any kind would cease, manufacturing and
production would be a thing of the past, the global economy would crumble,
communications would go dark as computer networks and the Internet are
abolished. Millions would freeze to death as a result of not being able to heat
their homes.
We'd be back to living in caves and hunting for food with
spears.
Does this sound extreme? The Washington Post calmly reports
on the proposals without even mentioning the complete devastation they would
inflict upon humanity.
Desperation to sell the coming apocalypse on behalf of the
climate change cult is evident as China, the biggest emitter of carbon dioxide
in the world, recovers from its coldest winter for 100 years, and Saudi Arabia
reels under an unprecedented cold snap that has residents scared to venture
outdoors.
The sheer ludicrousness of the Carnegie report is on a
parallel with a March
2007 New York Times editorial, which subtly pushed the notion that humans
emit carbon dioxide when they exhale, therefore should all be taxed for
breathing!
Since those who refused to pay the tax would continue to
commit the environmental crime of breathing, what would the punishment be?
Instant execution? Since most of the people who push this kind of quackery also
believe in global population reduction, they'd probably be all for it.
Of course the supposed science cited by the Carnegie report
to justify its hair brained conclusions is completely flawed.
As is readily apparent upon a cursory
examination of ice core samples - increases in carbon dioxide emissionsfollow
and do not lead temperature rise. They lag behind by as much as several
hundred years - proving that natural causes such as sun activity drive climate
change as has been the case throughout history, where extended periods of
warming and cooling have been observed.
In fact the earth has been warming
consistently since the end of the 17th century, after the planet emerged
from the Little
Ice Age, and long before industrialization began.
Of course none of this matters to the Church of
Environmentalism and their ever-willing media echo-chamber, whose duty it is to
regurgitate the most doom-laden dose of demonstrably false fearmongering in
order to con us out of tax dollars while all the real environmental problems are
ignored.
Fortunately, a sizeable portion of the Post's readers are not
buying into the insanity, with respondents up in arms about the Carnegie
Institute's proposals for zero carbon emissions.
"With one of the coldest and snowiest Winters on record
those who make money from global warming start revving their engines. Here we
have another keenly timed report to buttress their method of controlling the
citizens," retorts one reader.
"The global warming alarmists have left the world of
merely stupid behind them and have now entered the realm of completely
ridiculous. Since even carbon dioxide, which we all spew out every time we
exhale, has now been classified as bad for the environment, how do we get to
what these people now suggest? We can't. Get over it, get a life. And stop
believing this massive hoax," writes another.
"What a blatantly dishonest piece of reporting! First,
the picture implies carbon emissions are producing this horrible haze. This is
clearly other pollutants such as sulfur -> an unrelated problem. Second, this
studies predicted temperature rise completely contradicts all the other models
the WaPo has been touting as telling us the future and there is no discussion of
this inconvenient truth. Third, the article might want to mention the serious
consequences of achieving zero emissions -> civilization would end and
billions would die," concludes another.
